View your current plan
Go to Settings > Billing to see your active plan, usage for the current billing cycle, and next billing date.
Upgrade or downgrade your plan
- Navigate to Settings > Billing.
- Select Change Plan.
- Choose the plan you want to move to.
- Confirm your selection.
When you upgrade, the change takes effect immediately and your billing is prorated. When you downgrade, you keep your current plan's features until the end of your billing period.
Subscription statuses
Your subscription can be in one of these states:
- Trialing — You are in your 14-day Pro trial. You have full access to Pro features and are not charged until the trial ends.
- Active — Your subscription is current and your payment method is on file.
- Past due — A payment failed. You keep your paid plan's limits for a 7-day grace period while Stripe retries the charge; if payment still fails after that, your account uses Free plan limits until the payment goes through. Update your payment method to avoid interruption.
- Canceled — Your subscription has been canceled. You retain access until the end of your paid period, then revert to the Free plan.
Manage billing through Stripe
Upstream uses Stripe to handle all billing. From Settings > Billing, select Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal. There you can:
- Update your payment method
- View and download invoices
- Change your billing email
- Cancel your subscription
Track your usage
The Settings > Billing page shows your current usage against your plan limits, including chat queries used, documents uploaded, and team member count. Usage resets at the start of each billing cycle.
